Soft Trekking In The Danu Tribal Region, a CBT Experience
This tribal tour, out of Pindaya is run by community members and is intended for active travelers interested in “off-the-beaten-track” experiences with a focus on tribal life, outside cities. Our itinerary specialist will be pleased to incorporate this extension into any classic Myanmar tour.
Choose between 2 different itineraries, an easier one{option A} with exciting views and a very authentic, albeit more physically demanding route {option B}.
From Pindaya, take a car to the trekking starting point near Taung Paw Gyi. Then start your walk to Htin Yuu Gone Village (-45m/2km). Along the way, enjoy beautiful landscapes and the tranquility of nature. Proceed to Pin Sein Pin village (CBT project) where you will spend the night at the community house.
Traditional lunch will be served by village ladies.
After lunch, visit nearby hamlets and observe the making of bamboo hats, baskets and other products.
In the afternoon, enter the kitchen and participate in the preparation of traditional foods. Enjoy your delicious creations and local fare for dinner.
After dinner, demonstration of how to make a festive lantern by using handmade Shan papers and bamboo sticks.
Note : It is possible to arrange a performance of traditional dances with additional charges.
After a hearty breakfast at the community lodge, join the villagers in planting a few trees for environmental preservation. Then, start hiking from Pin Sein Pin Village to Kyauk Taw Village (-1 ½ hr /3km).
Along the way, check the emerald tea plantations and a green tea factory. After a short break, continue your walk to Paw Taw Village (-1hr/3km). Once there, take a stroll around the village and discover the cultural heritage and the way of life of Danu tribe people. Finally, a quick and pleasant walk downhill takes you back to Pindaya (-30m/1km).
End of the Tour!
Start walking from your hotel about 08:00 hrs to Htet Ni village (1 hr). From there, continue your walk up to See Kya Inn Village (2 ½ hr) passing through various plantations. Stop and visit the Pone Gyi Net Cave. After a scenic walk, you will arrive to the See Kya Inn Community Lodge where community members are waiting to welcome you.Traditional Danu cuisine will be served at the Community Lodge.
After lunch, take a stroll around See Kya Inn Village to observe the ways of life and culture of the Danu tribe.
Tea plantation and Green Tea producing is the main activity of the village.Visit the tea plantation and pick your own tea leaves. Back to the village, learn how to prepare invigorating green tea in one of the villager’s homes.
In the afternoon, interact with village youth and join them to play Danu traditional games.Relax and enjoy the sunset at the Community Lodge before dinner.After dinner, the village will arrange a bonfire party and show their individual talents.

Breakfast at the Community Lodge. Before departure, participate in planting a tree for environmental preservation. Then, start walking to Taung Paw Gyi village ( ~1 hr) where, a car is waiting to take you to either Pindaya or Nyaung Shwe.
